THE "LETTER" NEVER SENT TO PETER: Dear Peter: Thank you so much for calling and sharing your tears and despair. That was a brave and honorable thing to do--and, very hard. You are a great man and we have always appreciated you and you have never disappointed us. Our hearts are heavy and know that you had a lot more to contribute to this world and to your family. But it is not to be. You will leave this world with so many grateful to have known you. It has been a blessing to have raised you. We prayed for life for you, but that prayer has changed into a life everlasting. You have been given a personal, precious possession--Life Everlasting--given to you freely at your Baptism. Until we meet again, Love, Mom and Dad And, so, the Funeral is over and the grieving begins. Our prayers for a miracle were answered in you, Barb. You stayed by his side day and night and kept hope and love alive. And, then Peter said "Goodbye". His suffering is over--God needed him for another project. We can see Peter now, organizing and planning. We have our memories--a little boy taking a bath in a mud puddle, a first day at school--not made a "patrol boy", the Cub Scouts, a teen who opened the door and said, "Hi " Mom" and the young man at college, always serious and working toward a goal. Always, special. Thanks to all who gave their tributes to Peter and introducing us to Peter, the man of great heart.
